I did it: 14 days without any internet access. It was hellish. Never doing that again.
So big hugs for a new year: 2009 is going to be great. I can feel it already. This may have something to do with my lovely mainly-handmade haul for xmas (seems it wasn't just me that shopped Etsy this year - and thanks for the handmade chocs, Aleks!) and my pile of new games to play: I got Mirror's Edge, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Left 4 Dead, Hotel Dusk for the DS and Wii Fit. I are sploit. But this excitement comes more, I think, from the feeling that while I just listed a bunch of commercial purchases, there seems to be a really strong creative urge out there now, that people are making rather than buying, upcycling, lending, recycling, learning new things... and talking. There's a democratic America about to happen. There's plenty of bad happening out there, but also plenty (way, way more, I think) of good to come out of all this, and that's what I'm grinning about.
Lastly, this made me laugh hard this morning: I got an invitation from the Queen to go to Buck House for the relaunch of her website. File under Freaky. Not least, the invitation just looks so much like some kind of ARG ...

Blimey, as they say! But of course you MUST go. And try to sneak some pics while you're there. Do you think the Queen will actually be there, or just her IT guy? Hee hee!

Apparently her madge will actually be there! I don't own a dress and I don't curtsey, so this could be interesting ;-)

You laugh, but imagine if the Queen *was* running an ARG. That'd be bitchin.
Played TR:U over the holidays. Rather liked it. Have fun!

I got Tomb Raider: Underworld from the wife for Xmas... Finished it on the 29th.
Bought Mirrors Edge on Saturday, finished it on Sunday.
They're both a little short.

"I don't own a dress and I don't curtsey"
that's not true! I saw you dressed as Alice for your wedding party.
Just pretend she's the Red Queen and keep a few pieces of mushroom in your pocket in case you need to escape.

That is the weirdest news.
Off with your head.
